Only the wheels and rubber-tracked vehicles have been allowed on the road the Park since December 15, the opening of the winter, but enough snow fell in the last week of December to allow steel tracked machine.
The road between Mammoth Hot Springs would still be limited to just rubber tracked snow coach until more snow fell.
