Plans to make it easier for riders to get a NEXUS card, combined with other improvements, it could accelerate the journey at the peace bridge.

The NEXUS card is like E-ZPasses to travel at the international bridge, with the card holder who uses a special line. But in Western New York, the card can be purchased only at the whirlpool bridge in Niagara Falls or the Office of customs and border protection on the side of the peace bridge, Canada Schumer said.
That block the lot of travellers from purchasing the card, which, in turn, hurts the economy, he said.
