Capital budget increase in Utica, Marcellus CONSOLE and coal

Percent increase in the largest used for the development of the Utica shale, where the CONSOLE is planning to spend $ 50 million this year, compared with just $ 3 million last year. Marcellus capital also increased. Last year, the CONSOLES spent $ 427 million for gas out of the land. This year 35 percent more shelling out and pumped $ 575 million to the effort. The company plans to drill new wells in 61 Marcellus, 114 next year, 158 in 2014 and 179 in 2015.

Another $ 135 million will go toward building a $ 5.5 million settlement with the EPA and the West Virginia DEP.

Coal safety is getting a big boost to the tune of, $ 32 million, going from $ 18 million last year to $ 50 in 2012.
